"Merry Christmas!!!"...."um, thanks???"

Here is a really good verse concerning what a lot of people are celebrating this year!!...It comes from this really good book called the Bible and man does it have some good stuff about what we still do today...

Jeremiah 10:2-4 King James Version
"[2] Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
[3] For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
[4] They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not."

oh, so maybe its talking about that tree that everyone gets and decorates...weird!...I thought Christmas was a christian holiday!??...WELL...

"There is no doubt that the December 25  birthday celebration and festival was held to honor and worship the birth of the Babylonian false messiah.  The Babylonian worship of Nimrod was carried on through secret mysterious symbols such as the sun, trees and fire.  The present day Christmas celebration has evolved out of paganistic traditions passed down through civilization after civilization.
Such things as the tree, candles, ornaments on the tree, holly, ivy, mistletoe, Yule-day, Santa Claus, feasting, caroling, lights, gift-giving, consuming of certain types of foods, and time off from work all originate from paganism.  Over the centuries, Christmas spread and gained acceptance.  True uncompromised Christians who wanted nothing to do with the idolatry of paganism rejected Christmas and refused to observe it including the Puritan founding fathers of America.  Over time, however, Christmas gained popularity in the United States and throughout the world.
It is clear that all of the customs of Christmas are rooted in the pagan idolatry and worship of the false
Babylonian messiah. Most Christians have compromised and observed Christmas because of the traditions
of men, obligation to the family, and feared disappointment of the children. They have changed the pagan
meaning into Christian meanings while continuing to embrace the same pagan customs and traditions. This
mixture principle has been used by satan for centuries to get Christians to compromise and knowingly or
unknowingly allow themselves to be involved in a celebration honoring and worshipping a false messiah.
Jesus truly is not the reason for the season!"
When on participates in this paganism, he is not just observing a modern-day holiday, but in reality is
honoring and embracing all the ancient traditions of Babylonian mystery religion including acknowledging
Nimrod as the false messiah. The Bible says to keep ourselves from idols. Therefore, we must not
compromise the truth, but must stand up and reject Christmas!"

That is from The Truth About Christmas by David F. Middleton pg 35....and the rest of the book actually
explains a lot more but i didn't really want to put the whole book in here..haha..

hmm, something that seemed so innocent actually turns out to be something pretty dangerous...

Exodus 15:26
"And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee."

Dad, were outta OJ!

ok it's 11 at night and i just drank the last of the orange juice and its raining out so its too wet to go to safeway to get more right now. It will just have to wait till morning, or i could just get some water and give it some time and it will evolve into some orange juice...who knows. Anyways, got some words that i want to define so that everybody knows what they mean or just so that i will know what they mean. Oh and I'm using this handy-dandy huge green "American Dictionary of the English Language" made by Noah Webster in 1828 sitting by the computer.

Creation---It's a noun---1) The act of creating; the act of causing to exist; and especially, the act of bringing this world into existence. 2) The act of making, by new combinations of matter, invested with new forms and properties, and of subjecting to different laws; the act of shaping and organizing; as the creation of man and other animals, of plants, minerals. 3) The act of investing with a new character. 4) The act of producing. 5) The things created; creatures; the world; the universe. 6) Any part of the things created. 7) Any thing produced or caused to exist.

Evolution---It's a noun---1) The act of unfolding or unrolling. 2) A series of things unrolled or unfolded. 3) In geometry, the unfolding or opening of a curve, and making it describe an evolvent. The equable evolution of the periphery of a circle, or other curve, is such a gradual approach of the circumference to rectitude , as that its parts do all concur, and equally evolve or unbend; so that the same line becomes successively a less arc of a reciprocally greater circle, till at last they change into a straight line. 4) In algebra, evolution is the extraction of roots fro powers; the reverse of involution. 5) In military tactics, the doubling of ranks or files, wheeling, counter marching or other motion by which the disposition of troops is changed, in order to attack or defend with more advantage, or to occupy a different post.

Pelvis---It's a noun-- The cavity of the body formed by the os sacrum, os coccyx, and ossa innominata, forming the lower part of the abdomen.

Vestige(its where the vestigial organs come from)---It's a noun--- A track or footstep; the mark of the foot left on the earth; but mostly used of the mark or remains of something else.

Fact---It's a noun--- 1) Any thing done, or that comes to pass; an act; a deed; an effect produced or achieved; an event. 2) Reality; truth.

  • Author Richard Walker of 2003 Genes & DNA says that evolution is A gradual process of change that occurs over many generations.

Quick quote from page 37--"Normally evolution is too slow to observe-but bacteria reproduce very rapidly." What????

  • Author Paul Fleisher of 2006 Great Ideas of Science says that evolution is Changes in the characteristics of a population over many generations.

Quick quote from page 40--"Feathers, fr example, may have once served for mating display or as insulation to keep dinosaurs warm. Only after millions of years did they evolve to become useful in gliding, & later flying, in their descendants, the birds." Quick quote from page 46--"The fossil record is very incomplete." & "Perhaps intermediate fossils- sometimes called missing links- have simply not been found." Quick quote from page 54--"Biologist still don't know how life began. But they can speculate." Quick quote from page 61--"The first hominids evolved from apes about 4.5 million years ago in Africa."

  • Author Robert R. Coenraads of 2005 Rocks & Fossils says on page 242, "Life has evolved like a great branching tree in which all of its different forms are related, having evolved from a common ancestor at the tree's base some 3900 million years back in time. The exact reason or cause of this original event, however remains unexplained."

  • The National Geographic Society wrote in the 2007 Body-The Complete Human on page 98, "The coccyx is popularly called the "tailbone", because it is believed to be the vestigial remnant of a tail that disappeared as HomoSapiens evolved."

  • Author Richard C. Lewontin of 1981 Discover Biology says, "Evolution is fact, not Theory...Birds arose from non birds and humans from non humans. No person who pretends to any understanding of the natural world can deny these facts any more than she or he can deny that the earth is round, rotates on its axis, and revolves around the sun."

  • Lets finish with a great book with a great author, the Bible---Genesis 1:20-23 "And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven. And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth. And the evening and the morning were the fifth day."

Yield for Whale Crossing???

I'm freaking glad that people are actually reading this and giving their opinion!! I really really want everyone to basically know what is out there and have themselves research it so they can decide what to do with the information and how it might possibly effect their life.

So, for the sake of moving on, I am not going to go too in depth with the different versions on this one. Since the Bible is pretty big, it would take quite a while to give examples of all the mistranslations and things that are taken out of the text. But if you are looking into why there are different translations in the world and how translators get to writing different things, you have to go back to the original documents and which documents were corrupted and which ones were preserved. There is a lot of information for that and information for the authors translating and their reasons for translating. I really encourage everyone to look into it somewhat. It's pretty amazing.

So before I cut it off completely, lets just say that someone came up to me at work or somewhere and was like asking about the Holy Trinity. They have heard it before but like they have had a different background and are just really confused as to what it is. This is that great opportunity to witness to someone!! Well it just so happens that I pull out a piece of paper that has a verse on it! The verse is 1 John 5:7. And lets just say that that is the only verse that you can remember and use. Would that verse be able to tell them what the Trinity is?!?

Another scenario: Someone comes up and asks why did Jesus come down here to the earth??? Well good question my friend! Let me pull out my piece of paper with a verse on it and we will find out together. This time the verse is Matthew 18:11. And again, lets just say its the only one that you know yourself and only one that you can use. Would that verse be able to explain to them why Jesus came down to this earth!?!

Switching gears here, I want to kinda like start talking about whales and how they fit into evolution. Since I'm at the library and I should probably get some lunch before I go to work, I won't go to in-depth with it right now. But just know that many very intelligent people in the world today that do a lot in the field of science, etc, etc, strongly believe that once upon a time, whales could walk down to the nearest 7/11 and grab a slurpie. Considering I didn't really pay attention in my biology class and considering the standards of the school I went to, I don't know what they taught in this area. But if you check out some books in the library and look at some of the textbooks in high schools today(probably middle school too), its taught as a fact. And the amazing evidence that they have for this spectacular advancement in science is the whale's pelvic bone!

So that's kinda the skim the surface information for this topic and I will for sure talk more about it and give some like sources for people so they can look into it themselves. So again, please leave any comments, opinions, ideas for this because there is no "you are wrong and I am totally right", there is just truth. Thanks!!!!!

The Source!

Ok so before I start up this topic/discussion thing I think that what needs to be figured out first is where to get the information from as far as the Bible goes. And as far as the Bible goes no one would really think anything of it as far as the different versions that are out in print. Its still the Bible, so what is so important about the different versions right? There are Bibles that are published so that they can relate to teens; there are Bibles so that they can relate to adults; there are Bibles so that they can relate to business leaders; there are Bibles so that they can relate to pastors; etc. So just looking at it at first it must be really great that there are people that are willing to take the Bible and use it in many ways so that people in different areas of their lives or in different situations can relate to it and understand it. I, personally, had many different Bibles because they were either given to me as a gift from the church or from family. And it was pretty cool to have a Bible that would break down and interpret what is being said in the verses so that I could apply it to my life and the various situations that I was in. So, I think that it can be safely said that there are people that don't really care about the version they have(because they either don't really read their Bible or they just listen to what their pastor reads outloud in church), and people that haven't really heard about what the different versions contain, and people that have heard about the King James Version being the preserved Word of God but haven't seen why. I am really hoping to relay what I have learned so far and what I am still learning to everyone so that they can decide for themselves how important the Word of God is to them and show some things that may be surprising in contrast to what has been the traditional way things go.

To start out, I will say that I use and will be using for scripture the King James Version(KJV). Yes, that is the version that contains all those weird words like Thy, Thou, Ye, etc. Some have heard people read from the KJV and wonder how they can even follow it as they compare it to the easy and simple version that they have. Well, I will try and get to the meaning of those words and why they are there later, but right now I want to start out with the New International Version(NIV). Going to the NIV website and reading through the main page you can find, "The NIV was created and is maintained with the mandate to accurately and faithfully translate the original Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic biblical texts into clearly understandable English." and, "The NIV is the most widely accepted contemporary Bible translation today. More people buy the NIV Bible than any other English-language translation." Well just reading this will make someone go out and buy an NIV so it must be a good Bible. It has to be God's preserved Word that He promised He would preserve. Also I would like to use The Message which I have come across before. On their main website it says, "Language changes. New words are formed. Old words take on new meaning. There is a need in every generation to keep the language of the gospel message current, fresh, and understandable—the way it was for its very first readers. That is what The Message seeks to accomplish for contemporary readers. It is a version for our time—designed to be read by contemporary people in the same way as the original koin Greek and Hebrew manuscripts were savored by people thousands of years ago." and, "The goal of The Message is to engage people in the reading process and help them understand what they read. This is not a study Bible, but rather "a reading Bible." The verse numbers, which are not in the original documents, have been left out of the print version to facilitate easy and enjoyable reading. The original books of the Bible were not written in formal language. The Message tries to recapture the Word in the words we use today." Alright, so this version is great to use because the writer has obviously read the Word of God himself and taken the time to "break it down so that everyone can understand it". Well, good for them. The original Bible must have been too complex for us dumb people to understand.

Considering that the main topic is going to be on Creation and Evolution, I will use the Genesis account as an example.

KJV- Genesis 1:1-5-The First Day
1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
1
:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
1:3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
1:4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Reading this passage a person can conclude that:
1) In the beginning the God of the Bible created the heaven, the earth, the light, separated the light from darkness, called the light Day, called the darkness Night, and He did all of this in THE FIRST DAY.

NIV- Genesis 1:1-5-The First Day

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness.
5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
Reading this passage a person can conclude that:
1) In the beginning the God of the Bible created the heavens(so he created multiple heavens on the first day), the earth, the earth either was for sure formless and empty OR became formless and empty(this Bible must not be sure of which one), the light, separated the light from darkness, called the light "day", called the darkness "night", and He did all of this in THE FIRST DAY.

The Message- Genesis 1:1-5-The First Day

1-2First this: God created the Heavens and Earth—all you see, all you don't see. Earth was a soup of nothingness, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness. God's Spirit brooded like a bird above the watery abyss. 3-5 God spoke: "Light!" And light appeared. God saw that light was good and separated light from dark. God named the light Day, he named the dark Night. It was evening, it was morning— Day One.
Reading this passage a person can conclude that:
1) It wasn't the beginning, it was just the first thing God had on His big list. The God of the Bible created the heavens(so he created multiple heavens on the first day). He created earth but not THE earth so maybe there is another earth somewhere in outer space. The earth He created was a SOUP of NOTHINGNESS, a bottomless emptiness, an inky blackness(kinda sounds like my youngest brother describing something he doesn't want to eat. But if a person has an evolution background then they will love this Bible). The Spirit of God must be like a bird because we can relate to those. God just said the word "Light" and it appeared. He gave the light a name and He gave the dark a name. And all of this happened on Day One.

Wow, so reading just the first five verses a person can come up with lots conclusions as to what God created on the first day or on day one. So, obviously this is just a little bit compared to the rest of the Bible and I will for sure bring up more verses from the Bible and probably bring in some other versions that people are familiar with. And throughout this I will try to explain what the original texts are and how they are related to the interpreting of the Bible. And remember I am still learning too so I for sure don't know everything. So if you have a version that I don't have on here then for sure tell me and I will add it to the list so that we can all compare them and see what might be different and why. And I think after a couple weeks of explaining that having a good source greatly impacts the way that things are interpreted, then I will get on the evolution and creation discussion. And PLEASE, comment on anything and everything if you want to. I want to know what everyone else thinks about this and how it relates to them. Thanks!

Starting it up!

Well I am freakin excited about writing about this topic and hopefully I can get a lot of people to throw in their ideas and opinions. But I will get it started soon!
